Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Retail Stocking Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
  • Spotting areas where forklift drivers can keep people out of fall-danger zones
  • FOLLOWING merchandising standards and practices, aligning product, collecting and returning stray items, stocking to maintain high product levels
  • Communicating with supervisors and managers to determine merchandising plan and priorities
  • Stocking opened cases on shelves, moving and positioning pallets of merchandise using manual pallet jack, stacking product from partial pallets to full pallets
  • Using box knife to cut boxes for display/accessibility of product and to cut twine or shrink wrap from pallet, wrapping or tying and tagging pallets to be returned to steel
  • Marking product number on unmarked items using marking gun, observing and ensuring correct product signage
  • Setting up display models, assembling as necessary, modifying displays for safe handling by members, e.g., bolting heavy equipment, taping blade edges, following all safety and security procedures
  • Pulling loose cardboard and slip-sheets from floor, clearing sales floor of debris and sweeping, removing empty pallets from the sales floor, operating cardboard baler and trash compactor, rewrapping loose product using shrink-wrap machine
  • Providing prompt and courteous member service, helping members to load large items into their cart, directing members to products, relating product status knowledge
