This role requires effective communication skills, as you will need to interact with residents, staff members, and external organizations to coordinate activities and ensure the smooth running of daily operations. You will also be responsible for maintaining a safe living and working environment, adhering to health and safety protocols, and reporting any changes in residents' condition to the relevant authorities.
In addition to your core responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to establish links with the local community, promoting intergenerational activity and encouraging access to wider resources. This could involve collaborating with schools, spiritual groups, museums, and libraries to create engaging experiences for residents.
To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A positive attitude towards older people is essential, as is a commitment to providing stimulating and quality activities. Previous experience working with older people in a residential nursing Dementia setting is preferred but not required.
