About the role
Job OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Service Project Engineer to join our team in Australia and New Zealand. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project engineering and technical support on assigned projects related to hydroelectric power plant equipment installation, refurbishment, modernization, and R&M activities.
Main Responsibilities:- Provide engineering and technical expertise to the team and customers throughout the life cycle of assigned projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during planning, construction, refurbishment, maintenance, and commissioning activities.
- Prepare specifications for subcontracted works to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
- Develop repair methodologies.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with industry standards and regulations.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents.
- Oversee on-site construction and installation activities to ensure compliance with project plans.
- Conduct condition assessments of plant and prepare condition assessment reports including recommendations and solutions to identified issues.
- Support business development activities in the region.
- Identify tooling and equipment requirements for the ANZ HyService hub and prioritize needs as the business grows.
- Build relationships with customers.
- Support local team members and be willing to work outside specific areas of responsibility.
- Develop local procedures, processes, and systems.
- Provide mentoring and training to team members.
This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, proficiency in software and tools such as CAD, hands-on practical experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, exceptional organizational skills, leadership, and decision-making capabilities, and highly developed report writing and technical capabilities.
Requirements:- A qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent industry experience.
- A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in the hydro power sector or a supporting industry.
This role involves travel throughout Australia and New Zealand to work on customer/project sites in remote locations, and following up with suppliers, with the ability to work in industrial environments.
