About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel to join our client's team as an Industrial Relations Counsel. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a prestigious member association in a high-profile industry, providing strategic and legal advice on various matters.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal advice to key stakeholders, including the Executive Team and CEO, on membership, corporate governance, compliance, workplace relations, and more.
  • Support the organisation's governance by preparing submissions and reports for regulatory and governmental authorities, such as the Fair Work Commission.
  • Deliver exceptional legal research, interpretation, and preparation of legal opinions as needed.
  • Manage and resolve disputes, leading enterprise bargaining, litigation, and dispute resolution efforts.
  • Contribute to legal and industrial relations strategy development, preparing submissions and reports to regulatory bodies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws with a minimum 4 years post-admission experience, ideally within unions or membership organisations.
  • Experience working in a legal environment providing written and oral advice, with a focus on exceptional customer/member service.
  • Strong legal research skills, logical reasoning, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to articulate complex legal issues to non-lawyers, with exceptional attention to detail and commercial acumen.
