Job Title:

Cancer Research Assistant

About the Role:

This is an opportunity to work as a Cancer Research Assistant in a laboratory environment. The role involves providing technical support and research assistance, preparing the laboratory, assisting with routine experiments and practicals, collecting and analyzing data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop research projects in collaboration with researchers, students, and other technical staff.
  • Provide research assistance to staff, students, researchers, and other technical staff in the laboratory, including support for animal work.
  • Provide training to staff, visitors, and students on the safe operation and practices within a PC2 laboratory environment.
  • Clean and sterilize laboratory items, materials, and equipment.
  • Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment, including coordinating maintenance and repairs.
  • Properly store and dispose of hazardous substances.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in cancer or cancer research programs is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with researchers and collaborators.
  • Research methodology skills are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record experimental data.
  • Effective time management skills and a reliable approachable manner.
