About the Role

This is a critical position within the BHP Group, responsible for the coordination and delivery of program governance activities for the Payroll Program team. As part of the Program Governance, Planning & Reporting team, this role supports and delivers program governance activities, including Board and management reporting, governance, risk, and audit management, vendor management, and financial management activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Board and Management Reporting
    • Supports Board and management reporting governance, including coordination of the Program Board and management reports.
    • Coordinates Program contributions to the BHP Annual Report, including Disclosures.
    • Supports the completion of Program year-end governance activities, including Representation Letters.
  • Audit and Risk Management
    • Internal and external audit management, including coordination of the Program involvement in internal audits, Annual Report, and SOX Disclosures.
    • Program risk management, including supporting the Program risk and controls owners and planning and oversight of risk routines.
    • Supporting the Program budget and financial management activities, including capital planning, annual budget processes, and year-end activities.
    • Management of vendor contracts, budgets, and costs within HR.
    • Oversight of other Functional vendor contracts, budgets, and costs.
    • Oversight of vendor performance through KPIs.
  • Other Governance Activities
    • Coordinates and supports Program contribution and actions for ad-hoc activities, such as HR-wide initiatives.
  • Engagement
    • Develops and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with the Program team, the business, and external stakeholders by building trust and respect, acting with high ethical standards, objectivity, transparency, due care, and professionalism.
  • Improvement
    • Actively participates in the enhancement of the Program governance processes by applying BHP Operating System (BOS) tools and practices to drive improvement.
    Requirements
    • Extensive governance, risk, and audit experience.
    • Proven skills in Board and Executive reporting.
    • Extensive budget, financial, and vendor management experience.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-critical tasks.
    • Degree qualified in accounting (or extensive relevant equivalent experience).
    • Proven experience with Microsoft Office 365, SAP, and SAP GRC (desirable).
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and problem-solving skills.
    • Experience operating in a corporate environment, preferably the Resources sector.
    • Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Practising Accountant (CPA).
