Fleet Operations Coordinator Job Description

The Fleet Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery of freight to meet customer and statutory requirements. This involves planning and manifesting timely deliveries, booking additional transport as needed, and liaising with depot supervisors to ensure timely loading of vehicles.

  • Plan and manifest the timely and efficient delivery of freight to achieve delivery in full on time (DIFOT) targets and cost management objectives.
  • Book additional ad-hoc transport as required to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Ensure dispatching depots are provided with manifests and appropriate documentation.
  • Liaise with depot supervisors and team leaders to ensure timely loading of product units onto vehicles.
  • Investigate and resolve service and/or operational issues promptly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include ensuring runs comply with all regulatory and company requirements, including driver fatigue and load restraint policies, and completing critical processes in the Transport Management System within stipulated timeframes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in fleet coordination, allocation, or planning roles within the transportation sector is essential for success in this position. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, is also crucial. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
