About the Role

Our organization's global infrastructure is owned and operated by AWS Infrastructure Services, which includes data centers and servers that ensure customers have continuous access to innovation. A collaborative team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles work across AWS to deliver high standards for safety and security while providing infinite capacity at low cost.

We are seeking a Data Centre Operations Specialist who will be Amazon's front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This includes standby diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems.

  • Review management of routine and corrective maintenance on critical systems such as switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, and building monitoring systems.
  • Establish performance benchmarks, conduct analyses, and prepare reports on facility infrastructure operations and maintenance.
  • Help with design, implementation, commissioning, and build out of new facilities.
  • Create projects to increase current facility capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Manage facility assets and provision of infrastructure and inventory asset management.
  • Manage on-site contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors ensuring established practices and local legislation are followed.
  • Work with business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and optimize plant safety, performance, reliability, sustainability, and efficiency.
  • Hold or attain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance.
