Enterprise Data Centre Specialist

Role Overview
The Data Centre Engineer will play a crucial role in maintaining and auditing enterprise data centre footprints. They will work closely with the Designated Team Leader to ensure smooth operation of data centres.
Main Responsibilities:
- Cabling & Connectivity: Install, terminate, test, and label CAT6, fibre, and MDF phone lines within the IBX environment.
- Hardware Setup: Install ICT hardware, including shelves, rails, power strips, and cable management systems.
- Infrastructure Maintenance: Support ongoing infrastructure projects, including installation, updates, rationalisation, and decommissioning.
- System & Environment Audits: Conduct physical audits, update CMDB systems, and perform power and cooling assessments.
- Reporting & Quality Standards: Maintain cleanliness, ensure high-quality work, and report progress via the ticketing system.
About You:
- Data Centre Experience: Proven background in maintaining data centres, especially for critical ICT services, with familiarity in Defence environments and protocols.
- Technical Tools Knowledge: Working knowledge of PowerIQ and DC Track systems.
- Physical Requirements: Capable of manual handling, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25kg.
- Flexible Work Hours: Willingness to work nights and weekends during transition periods.
- Qualifications: IT or Telecommunications degree or diploma preferred.
