Job Overview

The Coordinator is responsible for managing daily operations, staff management and team objectives to ensure the effective maintenance of Council's Road & Drainage assets and preservation of Councils' Urban Forest.

This role involves coordinating activities, managing staff training and development, as well as motivating staff to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring the operation of the section is run efficiently, maximizing the life cycle of the Roads & Drainage asset.

Additionally, the Coordinator will be responsible for protecting and preserving Councils' Urban Forest, including maintenance and approvals. This includes overseeing tree services in local government and road services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing operational plans to ensure efficient service delivery
  • Managing staff performance, training and development
  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with council priorities
About You

To be successful in this role, you will require a degree in a related discipline (civil construction or arboriculture) with 5 years' experience or diploma, qualification in a related discipline and 10 years' experience. Additionally, you will need extensive experience in both Road Services and Tree Services in local government.

It is essential that you have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop staff. Your expertise in road maintenance and tree care is highly valued and your ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders is crucial.

You will be required to demonstrate your knowledge of relevant laws and policies, as well as your ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
