Job Title: Community Healthcare Advocate

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate General Practitioner to join our team in delivering free healthcare services to individuals who require support. As a Community Healthcare Advocate, you will play a vital role in connecting people with essential medical care and advocating for increased access to health services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run weekly clinics at our center to provide high-quality healthcare to those in need.
  • Engage with individuals who face barriers to accessing healthcare and work collaboratively with our management team to address these issues.
  • Advocate for improved access to health services at an individual and systemic level.
  • Connect with other professionals and health providers willing to offer pro-bono services to support our clients.
  • Expand our network of healthcare providers in the Sydney metropolitan region.
  • Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration.
  • Own Professional Medical Indemnity insurance.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) patients.
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to use email effectively.
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on additional tasks as needed.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
  • Compliance with ASC's code of conduct, boundaries, and confidentiality policies.
  • Experience working with people who have experienced trauma and mental health concerns.
