Martinus is seeking a highly skilled Cost Manager to lead project cost reporting for our Albury to Parkes Railway Project. This key role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and close collaboration with operations teams to ensure effective cost management throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining project budgets in coordination with project managers and finance teams. Monitoring budget variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Collaborating with project managers to evaluate change requests and update budgets accordingly.
  • Tracking and analysing project costs, including expenditures, budgets, and forecasts, to ensure alignment with project objectives and financial targets.
  • Preparing accurate and timely financial forecasts, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
  • Reviewing contracts and agreements to ensure adherence to financial terms and conditions.
  • Developing risk mitigation strategies in collaboration with project teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to project cost management.
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance cost control processes and tools.
  • Liaising with project stakeholders, including project managers, finance teams, contractors, and clients, to provide regular updates on project financial performance and address any cost-related queries or concerns.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. An advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in cost control or financial management, preferably within the construction, engineering, or infrastructure sector.
  • Familiarity with project management principles and methodologies.
