About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic LGBTIQA+ Consumer Advocate to work collaboratively with our Portfolio Lead and Working Group to develop and implement strategic quality improvements to our engagement with LGBTIQA+ staff, consumers, and carers.

Utilizing the framework of LGBTIQA+ Affirming Practice, you will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of a 2-year Action Plan
  • Organize, promote, and coordinate LGBTIQA+ events on days of significance
  • Enhance the capacity of our workforce by modelling affirming practice and facilitating training sessions to promote LGBTIQA+ Affirming Practice across our organization

The role will be based at our Waratah Clinic location, requiring one day per week collaboration with our Portfolio Lead/Senior Social Worker. This position demands teamwork, collaboration, and the ability to work autonomously, coupled with excellent communication, organizational skills, computer literacy, and administrative tasks essential for the functioning of our LGBTIQA+ Working Group.

The successful applicant must identify as a member of the LGBTIQA+ community, possess lived experience of mental illness and/or psychological distress, and demonstrate a passion for driving systemic positive change to enhance the lives of the LGBTIQA+ community.
