Overview:

Islands West Produce is seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to oversee our production department. With a strong commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, we are looking for someone who can lead our team effectively and ensure the highest standards in our fresh-cut fruit and vegetable offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage daily production activities, ensuring the efficient preparation of high-quality fresh-cut fruits and vegetables for various markets.
  2. Conduct daily quality checks and maintain production quality documentation.
  3. Monitor workflow within the department, providing support and guidance to staff as needed.
  4. Maintain the quality and freshness of all produce throughout the production process.
  5. Assist the production management team in coordinating product processing schedules based on customer needs.
  6. Report to the Production Manager, keeping them updated on departmental operations.
  7. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
  8. In the absence of the Production Manager or Assistant Manager, assume their responsibilities, including managing repair and maintenance requests.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of Food Safe Level 1 training (provided by Islands West).
  2. Hepatitis A vaccination (provided by Islands West).
  3. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  4. Experience supervising a team of 5-20 individuals.
  5. Background in produce handling, kitchen operations, or supervisory roles.
  6. Physical ability to lift, bend, and twist, handling weights up to 50 lbs regularly.
  7. Capability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift.
  8. Willingness to learn and develop knife skills.
  9. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment.
