Job Description

An Employment Plus Vocational Trainer plays a pivotal role in empowering unemployed individuals to acquire the skills and confidence required to secure employment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training programs, designing and implementing accredited and non-accredited vocational training programs, and assessing job seeker progress.

As part of this role, you will work closely with Employment Consultants and Recruiters to identify skills gaps and provide effective solutions.

This position requires flexibility, as you may need to travel to various sites within the Hunter Region as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement accredited and non-accredited vocational training programs;
  • Deliver high-quality training sessions virtually and face-to-face using MS Teams or similar platforms;
  • Assess and provide feedback on job seeker progress to support employment outcomes;
  • Work closely with Employment Consultants and Recruiters to identify skills gaps and provide effective solutions;
  • Travel to various sites within the Hunter Region as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in delivering quality accredited industry-based training in Retail, Business, Community Services, or Hospitality;
  • Strong working knowledge of ASQA Framework and Standards for RTOs;
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with diverse groups;
  • Demonstrated experience in working with disadvantaged learners, particularly long-term unemployed;
  • High level of resilience, computer literacy, and time management skills;
  • A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or higher, as well as a qualification in one of the specified industries;
  • A current valid driver's license for work-based travel and attendance at various work locations.
