Job Title: Fraud Data Analyst

Audit and Assurance Branch in Canberra is seeking a skilled Fraud Data Analyst to join their team. They are committed to ensuring a consistent and coordinated approach to data and analytics for fraud prevention, detection, and investigation.

The Fraud Insights and Data Analytics section undertakes complex data analysis using advanced statistical techniques to monitor and report on potential fraudulent activity. The team has access to a broad range of internal and external datasets, which they leverage to assist compliance and investigation teams in achieving their goals.

To be successful, the applicant must have excellent analytical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience working with large datasets. They should also possess a high level of proficiency in statistical software packages and programming languages such as R or Python.

Applicants must be an Australian citizen and eligible for employment with the Department of Social Services. A pre-employment screening process will be conducted, including an identity and criminal history background check.

The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance conducted by the AGSVA. This includes covering 5/10 years of employment, education, residential, criminal history, and any other relevant information specified by the AGSVA.
