About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Pricing Manager to join our Individual Pricing and Insurance Sustainability team at MLC Limited. As a key member of our pricing team, you will play a critical role in delivering value-add work to various stakeholders within the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead individual life pricing initiatives by overseeing project plans and performing peer review of technical work prepared by analysts and actuaries within the team.
  • Prepare pricing reports and recommendations for senior management.
  • Provide input into the assumption setting and review process, in conjunction with the Head of Individual Pricing and the Appointed Actuary.
  • Champion process improvement and best practice within the pricing process.
  • Collaborate with reinsurers.
  • Contribute to the resolution of incidents.
  • Develop team members to build technical pricing expertise, commercial acumen, and stakeholder engagement ability.
Requirements
  • FIAA or equivalent with a minimum of 7 years' Actuarial experience in the Australian life insurance industry. Pricing experience is highly regarded.
  • Strong understanding of the Australian life insurance industry and individual risk products.
  • Ability to plan, scope and manage projects including engaging relevant stakeholders.
  • Proven experience building convincing business cases.
  • Proven experience identifying issues, recommending solutions and working collaboratively with teams to solve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of complex business issues and the ability to explain them
  • Ability to prioritise multiple complex tasks appropriately by using effective time management skills
  • Experience in Prophet, Microsoft Excel and VBA, databases and SQL, R and/or Python.
