Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Environmental Sustainability Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level environmental guidance, supporting project compliance, and driving best-practice environmental management across construction and operations.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in site-based environmental advisory roles within infrastructure or renewables. They will possess strong knowledge of NSW and Commonwealth environmental legislation and approval frameworks, as well as proven ability to interpret and apply approval conditions and deliver practical, risk-based advice.

Key responsibilities include conducting site inspections, audits, and monitoring to assess and improve environmental performance, acting as the site-based environmental representative, ensuring compliance with approvals and regulations, and reviewing and overseeing contractor environmental management plans and implementation.

The role also involves reporting on incidents, risks, compliance, and contractor performance to project leadership, promoting environmental awareness across teams and contractors, leading incident response and corrective action processes, and liaising with government agencies and stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance and positive engagement.

Requirements:

  • Experience managing complex environmental issues and stakeholder engagement;">
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills;">
  • Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities;">
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously;">
  • Experience with environmental incident response and compliance reporting;">
  • Familiarity with document management systems and Microsoft 365;">
  • Qualifications or significant experience in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related fields;">
