Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Christian educator to lead our outdoor programs.

This role involves facilitating and assisting in the holistic development of program participants, providing instructional leadership that enables them to learn through active engagement.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and leading biblically sound and age-appropriate talks, as well as leading and instructing a range of activities within the outdoor education program.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead engaging and informative talks on biblical topics
  • Lead and instruct activities such as hiking, camping, and team-building exercises
  • Prepare and deliver activity briefs, de-briefs, and teaching sessions
  • Assist in the day-to-day running of our outdoor programs
  • Conduct evening activities, overnight expeditions, and weekend activities as required
  • Assist in the training and evaluating of staff in relation to non-Certificate III activities

Requirements

  • Qualified in Outdoor Recreation (Certificate IV skill set or higher)
  • Qualified (current) in Wilderness First Aid and Water Rescue
  • Qualifications (current) in Remote or Wilderness First Aid
  • Experience in leading best practice outdoor programs
  • Ability to infuse the Christian ethos into teaching practice
  • Experience in preparing, presenting, and facilitating biblically sound talks and studies
  • Experience working with children, teenagers, and diverse groups
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Experience in a mentoring capacity

Desirable

  • Theology qualifications or currently studying theology
  • Light Rigid Licence

Prior to an offer of employment being made, applicants must hold a valid Working with Children Check number for paid employment.
