Deliver Strategic Water Planning Solutions
A leading water business in the Asia Pacific region is seeking a highly motivated Hydrological Modeller to join its strategic planning projects. The role is ideally based in Newcastle, with consideration for Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne based candidates.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and calibrating hydrological models for water and wastewater networks and water resource systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Model Development: Develop and refine hydrological models for various water and wastewater projects.
- Data Analysis: Analyse and assess hydrologic, hydraulic, GIS and survey data to inform project decisions.
- GIS Software: Utilise ArcGIS or QGIS to support spatial analysis and mapping.
- Investigation: Conduct investigations, options assessments, master planning, growth and development studies, and operational/control systems design and validation.
- Communication: Present model development and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders through reports and presentations.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to deliver various projects, including systems investigations, planning studies, feasibility and strategy studies, and concept designs.
- Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in water modelling, with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
- Education: Bachelor of Civil or Environmental Engineering (or relevant qualification).
- Technical Skills: Solid grounding in water and wastewater network hydraulics and/or water resource systems. Proficiency in modelling software such as InfoWorks, MIKE, Source or Wathnet.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
