Dispute Resolution Specialist Role

This exciting opportunity is available for a skilled Dispute Resolution Specialist to join our team, reporting directly to the EDR Manager.

In this role, you will manage disputes lodged with external dispute resolution schemes by thoroughly investigating cases and collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee disputes across Australia and New Zealand (including AFCA, IFSO, OAIC) by reviewing responses, preparing well-crafted submissions, and participating in conciliations.
  • Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including dispute resolution schemes.
  • Lead meetings with senior stakeholders to identify risks and ensure complaint insights drive business improvement.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed to support continuous improvement and deliver positive outcomes for customers and the business.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in life insurance—preferably within disputes; claims management and legal backgrounds are highly valued.
  • Advanced understanding of relevant regulations and legislation, ensuring compliance and customer fairness.
  • Excellent customer service and complaint resolution skills focused on restoring and strengthening customer relationships.
  • Skilled in conciliation and mediation.
  • Experience preparing clear and effective written submissions to support fair outcomes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including trustees and dispute resolution schemes.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry codes, such as ASIC's RG271, supporting integrity and best practice.
