Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a team and take on a temporary position with the possibility of progressing to a permanent role. You will be working closely with our client to identify and implement injury prevention strategies, administer fitness for work plans, and oversee the return-to-work process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing effective injury prevention strategies
  • Administering and coordinating fitness for work plans to ensure a smooth return-to-work process
  • Overseeing the injury management process and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Designing and documenting processes to improve work health and safety management
  • Undertaking other health and safety projects as requested by the organization
  • Ensuring that all actions are in accordance with the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act

Requirements:

  • Professional qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field
  • Current relevant experience in return-to-work and injury management in a medium to large organization
  • Completion of Return to Work Coordinator Training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with key stakeholders
  • Proficient computer skills and experience in maintaining accurate and confidential records
  • Sound knowledge of the Workers' Compensation and Injury Management Act
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
