About the Role

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Manager to lead our perishable goods division in Sydney.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in the national and international market, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and arranging inspections and fumigation as required.
  • You will support the Head of Perishables in conducting performance appraisals, training and development, and maintain strong relationships with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the daily operations of the perishable goods division.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the national and international market.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including RACA, RMP, MPI, and other relevant authorities.
  • Arrange for Australian Quality Inspection Solutions (AQIS) inspections, calibration, and arrange fumigation as required.
  • Support the Head of Perishables in conducting performance appraisals, training and development.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, overseas agents, airlines, and internal stakeholders.
  • Meet department KPIs as set by the National Perishables Manger and the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 3 years' proven experience as a Perishables Manager, preferably within a logistics or freight forwarding company.
  • Extensive experience in air freight, sea freight, and logistics management.
  • Strong knowledge of Perishable export operations.
  • Demonstrated business development experience, including identifying and pursuing new opportunities, negotiating contracts/rates, and building strategic partnerships.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various transportation channels in the freight industry.
  • Understanding of industry terminology.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed KPI and targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a team in a demanding environment.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent time and management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
  • Capable of problem-solving on the spot.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, superannuation, and annual leave.
