Victim Support Specialist

Windermere Child and Family Services is a leading community organization dedicated to supporting individuals affected by family violence. We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Victim Support Worker - Family Violence Practitioner to join our team.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of victims of family violence. As a Victim Support Worker - Family Violence Practitioner, you will provide tailored support to victims, empowering them to navigate the justice system and access essential services. Your expertise will be instrumental in building the capacity of our Victim Assistance Program and promoting best practice in family violence response.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct support to victims of family violence, including information, advice, and referrals to specialist services.
- Build capacity across the Victims Assistance program through training, consultation, and support.
- Engage in community education and outreach activities to promote awareness and understanding of family violence.
- Liaise with other victim services, including Family Violence and Sexual Assault Services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Social Welfare, or a relevant equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the community sector, preferably in a trauma-related field.
- Case management, intake, and assessment experience, with a focus on family violence.
- Risk identification and management capability, including experience with the MARAM framework.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
