Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and responding to critical services and systems in a fast-paced data centre environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Role

In this role, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centre facilities. You will be required to respond quickly to service requests and emergency faults, undertake initial fault finding on equipment and provide estimated timelines for repairs.

You will also be responsible for undertaking daily site reviews to ensure all infrastructure is operating correctly, communicating identified risks immediately and providing support to clients as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond quickly to all service requests and emergency faults
  • Undertake initial fault finding on equipment and determine the cause of the fault
  • Provide estimated timelines for repairs with key internal teams
  • Undertake critical switching in the event of a failure to ensure no disruption to critical services
  • Ensure all planned contractor maintenance activities are completed in accordance with processes and procedures
  • Timely handover of work to ensure clean transition between shifts
  • Undertake daily site reviews to ensure all infrastructure is operating correctly
Requirements
  • Trade or Tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics
  • 4+ years experience in a critical infrastructure environment
  • Prior experience in operating Building Management Systems (BMS) or Energy Management Systems (EMS)
  • Exposure to data centre equipment including CRAC units, UPS, Generators and Fire systems
  • Demonstrated experience in managing all site critical infrastructure to ensure continuity of services
  • Demonstrated experience in utilising electronic monitoring systems to proactively monitor site conditions
