About This Role

This leadership position drives enterprise-wide strategy, governance, and performance accountability for rail network operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement data-driven insights to inform strategic decision making and drive continuous improvement in network performance.
  • Ensure the integrity and transparency of network performance reporting to stakeholders.
  • Lead investigations into operational issues and incidents, perform root cause analysis, and identify systemic issues; develop recommendations to improve network performance.
  • Develop and govern the enterprise-wide performance framework for rail operations, aligning with strategic objectives and regulatory obligations.
  • Provide actionable insights to operational branches to enhance network performance.

About You / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in rail operations with expertise in investigation and reporting on engineering, operational, emergency, and safety incidents.
  • Strong background managing complex data sets, including data optimisation and governance.
  • Experience overseeing investigations and performance issues in a complex operating environment.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills with experience leading a function within a high-reliability/high-risk environment in a large organisation.
  • Ability to operate in a matrix reporting environment with a customer-oriented mindset and understanding of service delivery demands.
  • Adaptive leader who can motivate teams towards business objectives and drive transformation.
