
Koala Conservation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Wildlife Officer to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for managing visitor centre operations, delivering koala husbandry activities, maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, administrative duties, and asset maintenance.
This role requires excellent communication and visitor service skills, as you will deliver outstanding community engagement activities that align with the South East Queensland Koala Conservation Strategy.
- You will work outdoors conducting strenuous activities
- Confidently engage with members of the public
- Undertake hands-on centre maintenance activities
- Perform administrative tasks including procurement, reporting, and correspondence
The centre operates as part of the Gateway Visitor Centres team and is built by the Queensland Government as a dedicated koala education facility. It was opened to the public in 1995.
