The role of a Security Officer can be performed in various sectors and roles. This Position Description outlines the general duties in line with specific role types and serves as a guide rather than a comprehensive list of tasks.
Relief positions covering Sydney West and Southwest areas, as well as Newcastle and Hunter areas.
Level 4, NSW State Award $26.87 per hour + $100.00 per week Relief Officer Allowance
- Five weeks of annual leave

About the Role
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide a security presence while remaining alert and focused. You will be part of an enthusiastic, committed, and customer-focused team. You will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to all our customers and building strong relationships with internal stakeholders. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Monitoring CCTV and radio communications systems;
- Access control and monitoring fire and alarm panels;
- Responding to all customer inquiries and liaising with emergency services;
- Conducting foot patrols;
- Completing reports and computer use;
- Sites include Holsworthy Barracks, RAAF Richmond, RAAF Glenbrook, RAAF Williamtown, and Singleton Army Base.
Required Skills and Experience
- A NSW Security Licence – 1A as a minimum;
- A Certificate II in Security Operations;
- First Aid and CPR;
- A NSW Driver Licence;
- Baseline Clearance/NV1 or the ability to obtain;
- Australian Citizenship;
- Intermediate computer skills;
- Availability to work a 24/7 roster.
