The role of Data Governance Lead is pivotal in embedding enterprise-wide data governance practices that unlock the full value of organisational data assets.

This high-impact role combines leadership, stakeholder engagement, and technical expertise to drive a culture of data responsibility and literacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implement Enterprise Data Governance Frameworks: Develop comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, security, and usability across the business.
  • Define and Enforce Data Ownership and Stewardship Models: Establish clear ownership and stewardship models for data assets to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as Australian Privacy Act, SOCI, PCI DSS, and GDPR.
  • Lead the Data Steward Forum: Foster cross-functional collaboration and lead the Data Steward Forum to promote data governance awareness and best practices.
  • Oversee Data Quality, Metadata, and Master Data Management Initiatives: Oversee data quality, metadata, and master data management initiatives to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify and Mitigate Data-Related Risks: Identify and mitigate data-related risks, including privacy and security risks.
  • Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Develop and deliver training programs to promote data governance awareness and best practices.

As a seasoned professional in data governance, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of robust data governance strategies and frameworks that support the business needs of the organisation.
