Crime Prevention Support Role

The Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission is a national criminal intelligence agency that advises senior decision makers on serious and organised crime impacting Australia.

About the Opportunity:

The National Police Checking Service (NPCS) is seeking motivated individuals to form part of a new team established to manage secondary clearance activities.

The Support Officer will work closely with National Policing Information Systems to assist in the processing of criminal history checks by resolving identity for persons of interest who have matched against national police records.

  • Demonstrates attention to detail and accuracy in their work with good organisational skills including prioritising tasks to meet deadlines and key performance indicators set by senior management
  • Follows established work processes with the ability to work autonomously on repetitive tasks with minimal supervision
  • Uses strategic assessment to analyse available information to make informed decisions
  • Has the ability to handle sensitive data including police and personal information while maintaining privacy
  • Has the ability to respond to customer inquiries in writing and over the phone including preparation of correspondence and reports
  • Escalates complex inquiries to the team supervisor and senior advisor as required

Applicants must maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain the required security clearance for this role.

Employees are required to hold a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance unless otherwise specified.

To be eligible to work at the ACIC you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
