We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Health Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate the return-to-work process, including suitable duties, plans, and liaison with health professionals to ensure a smooth transition for injured workers.
- Lead prevention programs like manual handling training and contribute to high-impact safety initiatives that minimize workplace risks and injuries.
- Attend and participate in onsite safety meetings, including the Safety Action Group and Safety Steering Committee to drive collaborative problem-solving and shared accountability.
- Develop, review, and assist in the implementation of injury management policies and procedures, and participate in regular safety audits to identify areas for improvement.
- Manage onsite first aid services, ensuring qualifications are maintained, and assist with manual handling risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
- Proven experience managing rehabilitation and return-to-work processes for injured workers, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, communication, and consultation.
- Tertiary qualification as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (RTWC) or related field.
- Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and ability to apply relevant guidelines to inform decision-making.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and consultation skills to build trust and foster collaborative relationships with employees, managers, and external partners.
- Collaborative team player with a continuous improvement mindset, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
