Job Overview
Mental Health Specialist RoleThis dynamic position is part of a single entry point for new referrals into the Area Mental Health Service. As a clinician with strong phone-based triage experience, you will ensure safe and effective care pathways.
The role involves:
- Providing recovery-oriented mental health triage
- Conducting screening assessments across the lifespan
- Assessing and managing risk, allocating follow-up care in line with Victorian Mental Health Triage Response categories
- Directing referrals to the most appropriate team or external provider
About You
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- Proven experience in mental health triage, clinical decision-making, and crisis assessment
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- A registered psychiatric nurse (RPN3) qualification
- A valid driver's license and ability to travel (fuel reimbursement within VIC)
Benefits
- An hourly rate of $80.23 - $86.89 per hour + penalties + super
- Fuel reimbursement within VIC
- A 12-week contract with an ASAP start
