We are seeking a Support Assistant to join our Secondary Learning Enhancement Team.

The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers, administrators, and specialist advisors to support students with specific learning needs.

Key responsibilities include supporting students with educational activities, contributing to Individual Education Programs, maintaining student anecdotal records, and assisting with administrative duties.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate patience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive information.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support students with educational activities provided by teachers
  • Contribute to Individual Education Programs for students
  • Maintain student anecdotal records for use in reviewing students' development
  • Assist with administrative duties
  • Care of specialised equipment required by students or teachers
  • Support and encourage students to develop independence
Requirements
  • Demonstrate patience and a caring attitude
  • Communicate effectively and display a high level of interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Understand the requirements of special needs students
  • Display empathy to the needs and abilities of students and parents
Education and Experience
  • Certificate III in Education Support is desirable
  • Experience working with ascertained children
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Working with Children Suitability Card is essential
  • First Aid Certificate is desirable
Work Environment
  • Office and classroom environments with some travel accompanying students around and off-campus
