Facilities Operations Specialist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a national telecommunications client on a full-time basis, supporting multisite operations responsible for a state portfolio.

This role will involve delivering FM services to the client, ensuring reliable and consistent delivery to plans. You will be responsible for managing risk identification/controls, incidents, and tenant/client/customer issues as per agreed processes.

The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, experience managing a multi-disciplinary workforce, and a sound understanding of operations and maintenance environments in telecommunications or technical service industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all assets are maintained to the required standard through planned, reactive, and capital works.
  • Undertake regular audits of the field workforce against client and company policies and standards.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with designated client representatives.
  • Act as the building owner's representative for all facilities within the designated area.
  • Provide technical expertise, knowledge, and site information as required.
  • Attend meetings with clients to coordinate activities, strategies, and planning to meet business needs.
  • Conduct regular meetings in occupied client facilities.
  • Coordinate and liaise with end users regarding maintenance, capital works, and associated outages.
  • In cooperation with the Asset Management team and National Call Centre, manage and coordinate all subcontractor activities.
  • Perform regular site inspections in accordance with agreed standards and schedules.
  • Manage incidents and restore sites to normal conditions.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary education in facility management, business administration, or project management, or similar operational qualifications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Proven ability to use own judgement to effectively manage workloads, take responsibility for tasks, and prioritize outcomes.
