Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is seeking a collaborative and experienced Strategic Government Engagement Specialist to join our Government & Stakeholder Division.

The role will work closely with our Government Engagement team and across AEMO to facilitate our extensive engagement with government offices across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of government engagement strategic objectives and build on relationships of trust and credibility with government departments.
  • Prepare, organise and review papers, briefings, policies, and reports to ensure effective government engagement.
  • Monitor and report on emerging government issues and manage government-related events, issues, and briefings.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar position undertaking government relations within Australia in a complex, issues-rich environment.
  • Strong understanding of Australia's electricity and gas sectors and detailed knowledge of the machinery of government.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, policy, commerce, economics, law or related discipline or significant experience of parity.
