About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our Open Space Mowing Team, overseeing the planning and delivery of mowing and open space maintenance programs across the municipality. This leadership role is responsible for supervising internal mowing crews and contractors to ensure high-quality presentation of parks, reserves, and public open spaces.

The successful candidate will oversee service delivery in line with scheduled programs and standards, manage equipment and resources, and respond to community service requests. With a focus on operational coordination, continuous improvement, and customer service, this position offers the opportunity to support a well-maintained and welcoming open space network that enhances amenity and livability for our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Internal Crews and Contractors: Ensure high-quality presentation of parks, reserves, and public open spaces
  • Oversee Service Delivery: Manage service delivery in line with scheduled programs and standards
  • Manage Resources: Effectively manage equipment and resources
  • Respond to Community Requests: Respond to community service requests in a timely and efficient manner

Requirements

  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary qualification in Horticulture or a related field
  • Experience: Several years' experience working in local government or a similar environment
  • Contract Management: Experience in contract management, including monitoring and OH&S requirements
  • Parks Maintenance: Demonstrated experience in parks and open space maintenance
  • Contract Administration: Demonstrated understanding of contract administration, including monitoring and OH&S requirements
