Job Description:

The NSW Department of Customer Service is seeking a skilled professional to join their Policy and Litigation team at the Office of the Registrar General.

The successful candidate will report to the Managing Lawyer (Policy) and work collaboratively with a friendly team to deliver high-quality legal advice, focusing on property law, drafting regulatory instruments, identifying and resolving complex legal and regulatory matters, and building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, willing to develop skills in new legal areas, comfortable with ambiguity, and enjoy working with others to develop innovative solutions.

About the Role:

  • Provide practical legal advice and conduct litigation
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve complex issues
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders

About Us:

We regulate the concession of NSW's land titles registry and oversee providers of electronic conveyancing services in NSW. Our team provides expert authoritative advice on all matters and legislation affecting land titling, property development, and conveyancing.

About You:

  • Be admitted as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW
  • Hold a current practising certificate
  • Have at least 4 years post-qualification experience in real property law and conveyancing transactions
  • Enjoy working in a customer-centric environment and developing practical solutions to complex problems
