Diesel Fitter Leading Hand Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Diesel Fitter to join our team as a Leading Hand. As a key member of our workshop operations, you will oversee the efficient delivery of maintenance and repair works across our large heavy equipment fleet.

This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a technician with strong knowledge of Komatsu mining equipment who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Supervise a team of diesel fitters and trades assistants working on Komatsu 830E/930E haul trucks and other OEM fleets.
  • Allocate and manage daily tasks based on workload and technician capability to ensure maximum workshop efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and hands-on expertise across major components and complete machine rebuilds.
  • Ensure all jobs meet quality standards and are delivered on schedule to minimize downtime for our customers.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory workshop role.
  • Experience with Komatsu mining equipment (830E/930E experience highly desirable).
  • A trade qualification in Diesel Fitting (Cert III or equivalent).
  • High-level fault-finding, diagnostic, and component rebuild capabilities.
  • The ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate workshop teams in a busy environment.
