Joyce Mechanical Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Workshop Leading Hand to join our expanding team in Mackay. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a technician with strong Komatsu knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard maintenance environment. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing workshop operations, coordinating Komatsu rebuilds, and ensuring the efficient delivery of maintenance and repair works across our large heavy equipment fleet.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of diesel fitters and trades assistants working on Komatsu 830E/930E haul trucks and other OEM fleets.
Allocate and manage daily tasks based on workload and technician capability to ensure maximum workshop efficiency.
Provide technical leadership, troubleshooting support, and hands-on guidance across major components and complete machine rebuilds.
Ensure all jobs meet quality assurance requirements and are delivered on schedule to minimise downtime for our mining customers.
Maintain detailed records of job scopes, parts used, labour hours, and compliance documentation.
Support project planning and forecasting in collaboration with supervisors and parts coordinators.
Champion and enforce workshop safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and adherence to OEM specifications.
Assist in the onboarding and development of new team members to support long-term capability growth.

What We're Looking For:

Minimum 2 years' experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory workshop role.
Experience with Komatsu mining equipment (830E/930E experience highly desirable).
Trade-qualified Diesel Fitter (Cert III or equivalent).
High-level fault-finding, diagnostic, and component rebuild capabilities.
Proven ability to lead, motivate and coordinate workshop teams in a busy environment.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with a proactive attitude.
Experience working within planned maintenance systems and job management processes.
