Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook a range of Chinese dishes, including hotpot ingredients, according to customer orders and menu specifications.
  • Culinary Techniques: Skilfully prepare and cook using techniques such as stir-frying, deep-frying, steaming, braising, and boiling, including handling specific Chinese cooking equipment.
  • Food Presentation: Portion food accurately, place it on plates, and add appropriate gravies, sauces, and garnishes to ensure visually appealing and appetizing presentations.
  • Dietary Requirements: Prepare dishes that meet special dietary needs, such as vegetarian, gluten-free, or low-sodium options, ensuring that all customer preferences are accommodated.
  • Kitchen Management: Manage and regulate the temperatures of cooking equipment, ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Menu Development: Participate in the design and update of the menu, proposing new dishes and improvements to meet market demand and customer preferences.
  • Training and Development: Train new kitchen staff in cooking techniques and workflow to maintain consistency and efficiency in kitchen operations.
Requirements
  • Certificate III or Higher in Cookery: Completion of a Certificate III or higher qualification in Cookery.
  • Experience in Chinese Cuisine: Minimum 1 year experience as a Cook, preferably in Chinese cuisine, with a strong understanding of hotpot preparation.
  • Kitchen Health and Safety: Knowledge of kitchen health and safety regulations.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks efficiently, and strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Language Skills: Fluent Mandarin speaking preferred.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
