Job Summary

The Animal Management Officer will be responsible for providing high-level customer service and managing the registration of pets within the municipality.

This role requires excellent communication skills, including verbal and written, as well as a proven ability to prepare reports to a high standard of accuracy and detail.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Animal Management team and other branches in the organisation to ensure the effective delivery of Council objectives.

About the Team

The City Safety, Security and Amenity Branch works with partners and stakeholders to enable and enhance a vibrant, safe and accessible environment for people living, working and visiting the City.

The Animal Management team is responsible for educating and enforcing compliance with legislation, collecting lost, stray and abandoned animals and providing animal welfare services within the City.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level customer service to pet owners and members of the public.
  • Manage the registration of pets within the municipality.
  • Prepare reports to a high standard of accuracy and detail.
  • Work closely with the Senior Animal Management team and other branches in the organisation.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written.
  • A proven ability to prepare reports to a high standard of accuracy and detail.
  • A current valid Australian driver's license.
  • Certificate IV Local Government (Statutory Enforcement) or equivalent industry experience.
