About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Liftero, a leading innovator in in-space transportation technologies. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, analysis, and testing of mechanical and structural subsystems and the entire Motus spacecraft system.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and analyzing mechanical and structural systems for the Motus spacecraft, including components, assemblies, and subsystems. You will also provide technical support to manufacturing engineers during the fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical and structural components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Analysis: Design and analyze mechanical and structural systems for the Motus spacecraft, including components, assemblies, and subsystems.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to manufacturing engineers during the fabrication, assembly, and testing of mechanical and structural components.
  • Quality Control: Review manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, and inspection reports to ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Material Selection: Select materials, manufacturing techniques, and production optimization to ensure efficient and cost-effective manufacturing of mechanical and structural components.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including design reports, test reports, and engineering change orders, to ensure comprehensive documentation of mechanical and structural engineering activities.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a similar position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong Experience: Strong experience in mechanical and structural design, analysis, and testing, preferably in the aerospace or space industry.
  • CAD Software: Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks, Catia, or similar. GD&T knowledge preferably.
  • Analysis Tools: Knowledge of mechanical and structural analysis tools, such as FEA software (e.g., ANSYS).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
