  2. Conduct hydraulic modeling, pipe stress calculations, tank and pump sizing, and other engineering tasks
  3. Collaborate with mechanical design teams to direct completion of engineering drawings
  4. Participate in multi-discipline collaboration on the development of equipment general arrangements, P&IDs, isometrics, asset and tie-in lists, orthographic, etc.
  5. Attend client meetings and/or site field visits
  6. Work under limited supervision, performing both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations
  7. Maintain open communication with project team regarding workload planning, task estimating, and budgeting
  8. Work with Project Engineers and Project Managers on developing workload forecasts, design schedules, and budgets for engineering work activities
  9. Create, update, and implement group-specific standards
  10. Prepare technical reports and presentations that explain research, findings, and recommendations
  11. Interact with vendors, regulatory agencies, and contractors
  12. Preparation of project specifications and contract documents
  13. Ability to check and verify work prepared by peers/groups
  14. Apply strong knowledge of industry standards, guides, specifications, and procedures specific to working in the US mechanical and industrial infrastructure
  15. Ensure that the technical and safety standards are maintained in all aspects of design work

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
  2. 6+ years of relevant experience in industrial facility mechanical engineering
  3. Able to participate in field walks and create field sketches, take dimensions, climb ladders, etc. as necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. EIT Certification
  2. Demonstrated experience with specifying mechanical equipment (e.g., rotating equipment, tanks, pneumatic conveying, dewatering)
  3. Familiarity with diverse metallurgy
  4. Demonstrated experience with engineering software packages: Caesar II, Pipe-Flo (or other hydraulic modeling application), AspenTech applications, and/or Applied Flow Technology applications
  5. Experience with HVAC and/or other similar building systems
  6. Experience with Hydrogen production facilities
  7. Experience executing work in 3D model environments
  8. Experience with Smart P&IDs
  9. Experience working in collaborative model environments (e.g., Navisworks, BIM 360)
  10. Experience with bulk material handling
  11. Strong knowledge of piping specifications and pipe stress analysis
  12. 2+ years experience as project technical mechanical lead
  13. Strong experience leveraging laser scan or other data sets to inform design development
  14. Knowledge of typical stakeholders and ability to anticipate data requests and expectations
  15. Demonstrated experience in participating in complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and CAD teams
  16. Comprehensive knowledge of industry (including safety) standards (e.g., API, ASME)
