Job Title: Strategic Government Relations Manager

As a key member of our Corporate Affairs and Sustainability team, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing government engagement strategies that maximize impact in areas of economic and reputational significance to our organization. You will collaborate with the General Manager of Government Relations & Industry Affairs and work closely with our leadership to ensure effective government relations on issues of strategic importance.

Responsibilities:
• Monitor and assess policy and legislative developments relevant to our business
• Develop and implement advocacy strategies aligned with our key priorities
• Nurture and maintain strong relationships across relevant stakeholder sets, both at a political and bureaucratic level
• Provide advice to our senior leadership and build their capacity to effectively engage with government to achieve our strategic objectives
• Represent us in relevant meetings and forums, leveraging your ability to influence and shape outcomes

Requirements:
• 10+ years experience in a federal government, politics or policy related role
• Past proven experience in an ASX-listed corporate environment highly regarded
• Tertiary qualifications in political science, public policy, law or communications
• Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with experience in building consensus on complex issues
• Excellent people skills and a proven ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with colleagues, MPs, advisers, and departmental representatives
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize to meet deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret policy directions and political motivations
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to influence stakeholders and effect change
