Role Overview:

NRC is currently seeking an experienced Operational Integration Lead to join the Digital Systems Program (DSP) with our client. The Operational Integration Lead will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the Operational Readiness team for the System Integrator, ensuring the development, delivery, and acceptance of operational system modifications necessary for the successful implementation of Digital Systems.

The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in managing Operational Readiness processes throughout a program lifecycle and the confidence to apply their technical knowledge in a consultancy setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various directorates and stakeholders to establish the Operational Readiness Strategy, tools, and methodologies for the program.
  • Assist in creating local Directorate Operational Readiness Lists through workshops, interviews, and leveraging prior experience in similar initiatives.
  • Coordinate the generation and proper storage of evidence systems to facilitate a seamless transition into operational service for newly installed digital systems.
  • Provide expert guidance and support in interpreting the implications of proposed technical requirements for operational compliance.
  • Aid in compiling necessary operational changes to support the rollout of digital systems.
  • Offer technical expertise for the implementation of operational specifications and procedures, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and procedural requirements for safe and efficient operations.
  • Maintain a collaborative approach with clients and key stakeholders at all times.

Experience & Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Extensive railway experience, particularly in implementing significant operational changes.
  • Proven experience in managing and drafting Operational Readiness reports across complex, multidisciplinary programs.
  • Experience in compiling and organizing evidence files and stage-gate documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in IT, including MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to adhere to standards and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant administrative, financial, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines under pressure.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in delivering change, compliance, and/or complex projects.
  • Formal qualifications in risk and/or project management.
  • Ability to consolidate various data sources into a unified log for reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge or experience within the Australian Rail Industry.
