Job Title: Residential Care Manager

This role involves overseeing daily operations in a therapeutic home setting, providing support and mentoring to staff, and helping children and young people develop essential life skills.

  • Oversight of the home in line with service standards and policies.
  • Providing direct care and support to residents in a residential setting.
  • Leadership and management of the team, promoting a strong culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will lead and manage the home in line with relevant legislation, service standards and Life Without Barriers policies and procedures.
  • Support the wellbeing of children and young people through therapeutic care plans.
  • Guide your team in applying Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
  • Provide reflective supervision and mentoring to staff, fostering a strong, supportive team culture.

Requirements:

  • A Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work is desirable but not essential for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants with relevant experience.
  • Leadership experience in services supporting children and young people.
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and complex health needs.
  • Ability to lead and supervise a team, embedding therapeutic care practices.
  • Current First Aid certification and a valid driver's license.
