About this Position:

">Head of Pastoral Care - Junior School Role">

We are seeking an experienced educator to join our dedicated Junior School team at Gawler River School. The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of early years students and suitable pastoral care programs.

The Head of Pastoral Care - Junior School role is responsible for leading the teaching staff in the development and delivery of a coherent pastoral care program, supporting student wellbeing, inclusion, student voice, and effective partnerships.

This position attracts a POR 3 allowance and requires collaboration with the Head of Pastoral Care JS (Yr 3-6) leader.

">

To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

">
  • Suitable tertiary qualifications (a postgraduate qualification in a field related to pastoral care or similar would be an advantage).
  • Registered to teach in South Australia or be eligible to obtain registration.
  • Have an understanding of and commitment to Christian education.
  • Have the desire and skills to participate in the College's extra-curricular program.
  • Have the interpersonal skills to quickly achieve trust and respect from the teaching team.
  • Be able to respond positively to the expectations of a modern school.
  • Be able to set high standards for student behaviour and teacher performance.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people both verbally and in writing.
  • Have the knowledge of and a commitment to the principles of equal opportunity and work safety.
