Academic Role Overview

This part-time opportunity seeks an experienced academic to join our team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Student Matters. The role involves providing pastoral care, facilitating student support, and advising on student issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver pastoral care and oversee student support to address factors impacting academic progress.
  • Establish effective liaison between students and the School, including student associations.
  • Advise on student issues, including transfers, extended leave, welfare, progress, disciplinary matters, and confidential records.
  • Liaise with educational academics regarding student welfare matters.
  • Collaborate with Student Matters Coordinators across campuses to provide support.
  • Participate in National selection processes.
  • Contribute to teaching within the program.
  • Support research and scholarship related to pastoral care, student experience, and selection.
  • Engage in School committees.
  • Assist in the development and engagement of the School's Alumni.
  • Participate in events related to students, orientation, enrolment, and pastoral care.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will possess:

  • A doctoral or master's qualification in Medical, Clinical Psychology, or health discipline degree.
  • The ability to manage complex personal and professional issues and provide high-quality pastoral care.
  • Experience in teaching at master's level or higher (desirable).
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Organizational and management skills.
  • Proficiency with technology and teaching programs.
