We are seeking an experienced Packaging Machinery Operator to join our Primary Packaging division at a time of significant investment and growth.

As a Packaging Machinery Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery, as well as performing repairs within the plant to produce high-quality, low-cost products.

You will report to the Team Leader and collaborate with other Fitter Operators, Operators, Team Leaders, Production Manager, and Engineering Manager to achieve successful outcomes.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all Health, Safety & Environmental policies & procedures are adhered to
  • Developing effective relationships & collaborating with team members to reach successful outcomes
  • Guaranteeing that all products manufactured comply with specifications and meet customer satisfaction
  • Omitting performance by ensuring planned production and delivery times are met
  • Undertaking repairs and general maintenance of machinery and plant equipment (reactive & preventative)
  • Troubleshooting repair and mechanical processes
  • Identifying process improvement, and carrying out new project work design

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A relevant trade qualification, Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent
  • Solid experience working with a manufacturing environment and hands-on experience operating machines
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure & attention to detail
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation and carry out shift work

This is a permanent full-time opportunity offering an attractive shift roster, competitive wages, Enterprise Agreement work conditions, longevity, job security, and overtime.

The estimated salary for this role is around $65,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
