Warehouse and Food Safety Coordinator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Warehouse and Food Safety Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the day-to-day provisioning of food and beverage requirements for our rail journeys.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing the GSR food safety system, ensuring its effectiveness and continually improving quality. This includes actively involved in staff training and contributing to Navigator and other staff training tools, updating and sourcing new products and trends, assisting procurement process, guiding the purchasing team, and continuously making necessary improvements.

Maintaining supplier communications, developing and maintaining process flow, including work instructions, managing the GSR Food Safety System, including training, and maintaining food quality standards - stock receipt process, sampling process, specification management are also key responsibilities of this role.

In addition to these tasks, the successful candidate will be required to maintain the back end of POS system REVEL, support stock controllers and ordering through COUPA, and demonstrate strong empathy with guests and staff in a tourism and hospitality environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A graduate degree in a relevant field is preferred, with qualifications in Food Science highly regarded.
  • Intimate working knowledge of accredited food safety systems essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in producing and tabling reports.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Evidence of successful team membership.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proven project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
